Comparing Performance

While performance isn’t usually the first factor in choosing a sedan, it’s still an important component. Both models have the exact same type of engine, the 2.0L I4, which makes them more efficient on the road. You can expect at least 30 mpg in the city for both sedans with the Honda edging out the KIA K4 by a couple of miles. The Civic also offers slightly more horsepower over the K4. This trend continues even with the top trims. Honda also includes automatic stop and start to help you be more efficient along with your choice of Eco and Sport mode to fit your driving style.

Comparing Technology

Both the Civic and K4 offer advanced technology to keep you informed and entertained. The difference between the two lies in the details. For instance, both models provide climate control on the base trim, but the 2025 Honda Civic includes automatic climate control as opposed to manual. The base trim for the Civic also features a nine-inch touchscreen with optional voice command, so you can keep your focus on the road. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims of the Honda and KIA sedans. Honda makes Amazon Alexa standard even on the base trim, which allows you to stay organized on the go.

Comparing Safety and Comfort

Advanced safety features are available on both the Honda Civic and the KIA K4. Lane Keep Assist is standard even on the base trim along with a backup camera. Only Honda makes Forward Collision Warning standard on the base trim while Blind Spot System is available for both models at the entry trim. Parking sensors aren’t standard until a higher trim level for either model. As you move up the trim levels, you get even more with these two sedans. Both models feature heated front seats with multiple settings to provide optimal comfort in chilly weather.

The 2025 Honda Civic offers six trim levels compared to KIA’s five. Only Honda offers a hybrid option along with the sporty Type R while KIA features a GT and GT-Line Turbo trim. All trims are powered by a four-cylinder engine for better fuel economy while providing a peppy ride. KIA pairs all trims with an automatic transmission while Honda offers a manual with certain trims and an automatic with others.
